According to SIA, ‘Before you apply for a front-line SIA licence, you need to train for a ‘licence-linked’ qualification.
This is so SIA can be sure you have the skills and knowledge you need to hold a licence and do your job safely.
Without completing an approved course and obtaining the licence, it is illegal to work in most private security roles in the UK

The four main SIA training courses

The course you take depends entirely on the security role you want to work in. There are four primary routes:

How long do the courses take?

At Secure X Premium, the Door Supervisor Course runs over 6 days and the CCTV Operator training over 3 days, both scheduled from 09:30 to 18:30. Every course includes classroom instruction, physical activity components (ACT), and all required assessments — with no additional fees for those elements.

What documents do you need to enrol?

For any SIA training course at Secure X Premium, you must bring the following on your first day. These are required to verify your identity and submit your licence application to the SIA:

  • Valid photo ID (passport or driving licence)
  • Proof of address (recent utility bill or bank statement)
  • Passport-sized photographs
